Sevrel + Egnyte: Document Intelligence Without a Library Migration
Sevrel connects to an organization-authorized Egnyte scope, so the source library can remain the system of record. Sevrel still processes provider content and may persist extracted/indexed chunks and necessary metadata in its own tenant-scoped data store.
No Wholesale Library Migration Required
Teams can keep their source files and folder structure in Egnyte rather than relocating the entire library. During discovery, indexing, and questions, Sevrel fetches authorized content for processing. Search availability depends on successful provider access and indexing; it is not an instantaneous pass-through view of every new file.
How It Works
- Organization-level OAuth — an administrator authorizes credentials and a configured document scope for the organization
- Processing and indexing — source content is fetched and extracted/indexed chunks and metadata may persist in Sevrel
- Controlled write workflows — create, upload, move, share, and delete capabilities depend on provider scopes and Sevrel roles; sensitive actions require explicit confirmation
- Eventual availability — new or changed files become searchable after provider discovery and indexing complete
Why This Matters
Keeping Egnyte as the source system avoids a wholesale migration project and preserves familiar source-library organization. It does not mean Sevrel stores no derived content or that every integration action is read-only. Administrators should review the provider grant, configured base path, Sevrel roles, and audit records as one control set.
