What Sevrel Does

Instead of manually searching through folders of PDFs, spreadsheets, and lease agreements, you type a question in plain English and Sevrel finds the answer from your documents. Responses are designed to include source citations so you can verify the information directly; citation coverage is not a guarantee of accuracy or completeness.

How It Works

Sevrel uses a technique called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). When you ask a question, Sevrel:

1. Searches your documents — finds the most relevant files across your connected document source based on your query
2. Reads the source text — Sevrel extracts text from your files (PDFs, spreadsheets, Word documents, presentations, and scanned or image-heavy pages) when it indexes them, then reads that prepared text at query time. Newly added or changed files may need a sync or re-index before they can be used to answer a question.
3. Generates an answer — an AI model reads the extracted content and writes a clear, concise response
4. Tracks sources — answers can include links back to the retrieved documents

Source files can remain in your connected storage, while Sevrel fetches content for processing and may store extracted/indexed chunks and necessary metadata. Available provider operations depend on the configured OAuth scopes, Sevrel permissions, and confirmation controls.

Tiered AI Model Routing

Sevrel uses an enterprise AI provider with automatic tiered routing. Configured heuristics select a tier based on apparent query complexity; selection does not guarantee a particular result. Chat answers are generated by the standard or deep tier — the fast tier is reserved for internal and background work:
